Community Based WATSAN

To ensure the sustainability of the programme, SHEDF made sure that people understand the rationale behind sanitation and hygiene, i.e. the adverse consequences that would come if they do not have a hygienic lifestyle. Hygiene education was introduced in school. It taught children basic things of personal hygiene like washing hands with soap and water. That simple habit can help to reduce the number of diarrhea cases by 40%. Moreover, SHEDF brought across the message of sanitation and hygienic defecation to the young by collaborating with a local music-theater performance troupe who performed various educational for children. Major activity as follows:

  • Behavioral Change and Communication (BCC) Material development and demonstration

  • Provide community training on WASH
