SHEDF is implementing Microfinance program under Economic Development Framework. It provides support to the poor people, as well as obligatory savings schemes through Group obligation mechanism. So far outreach nearly Two Thousand borrowers (Program participants), provide loans to groups. SHEDF defines such people sufferings of extreme poverty as the ‘ultra poor’, and has designed a programme an customized for this group that combines subsidy with enterprise development training, social development and asset transfer, eventually pulling the ultra poor into its mainstream Microfinance programme.

In addition to microfinance, SHEDF provides entrepreneurship training and support to its member borrowers like  poultry and livestock, fisheries, social forestry, agriculture. It provides essential inputs for some entrepreneurs through ‘Programme Support Enterprises’ that include Poultry farm. Based on the analysis of youth employment scarcity, SHEDF also focus to provide assistance for young men and women especially to get access at workforce market, as an example, skill development program for adolescent and youth. SHEDF also has a number of income generation programmes that contribute to the sustainability of SHEDF’s.  Major Highlights of Activity:

  • Group Formation and Provide Financial Support to the group for livelihood promotion
  • Provide skill training for individual and collective livelihood promotion
  • Promote and encourage to develop small scale entrepreneurship
  • Social awareness building (i.e. HIV AIDS, Primary Health and Hygiene,  WASH, Women’s Rights, Human Rights) within a group
